Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Any student going to get their permit over fall break don’t forget that you will need a SF10-10 form from Attendance office.  This form is required by the DMV.  A request for the form can be made in the Attendance office. (/22, 9/26, 9/27) – C. Wilson

Any student who has lost an item during the first term please come down to the Attendance office and check the lost and found.   After fall break all items left in lost and found will be donated. (9/22, 9/26-9/27) – C. Wilson

Attention students who ride bus 351: it will be late today, Wednesday September 27.   Students who ride this bus should wait in the top tier of the food court. (9/25, 9/27) – A. Roberts

If you would like to climb to the top of Machu Picchu, swim in hot springs or ride a llama it’s not too late!!!! See Sra. Gilliland or Sra. Mas-Effler for an application. Happy banned books week!  We’re wild and crazy at the library so we’re celebrating your freedom to read all books from all viewpoints by displaying some of the most challenged books of all time.  Who knows?  You might have even read some – you scofflaw you!  Haven’t read any?  That’s ok – it’s not too late!  Stop by the library so you can check out a book for fall break (it doesn’t even have to be a banned book) and you can also get your very own “I read banned books” sticker – everyone loves stickers! Come to NHS tutoring from 3:15 to 3:50 in the Counselling Center on Thursday to glue your academic progress in your minds so it will stick over two weeks of Fall Break. Olivia Pabst and Aly Rosen will help make it stick. (9/27-9/28) – K. Senter

COUNSELING INFO

Are you a Junior or Senior that is interested in a unique scholarship opportunity? The United States Senate Youth Program offers an annual Washington Week event in March, which includes a variety of events that promote a unique understanding of the structure of our national government. The Hearst Foundation also offers selected state finalists a $10,000 undergraduate scholarship. College Admissions Evening will be on Wednesday, September 27th from 6-7:30 in the Amphitheater. Admissions counselors from Vanderbilt, University of Tennessee – Knoxville, and Roane State will be reviewing the admissions process for each college to give students and their family’s information about private vs. public universities and 2 year vs. 4-year colleges. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO
