Students: If you have requested a Sprint Hot Spot device AND have turned in your consent form, please meet in the amphitheater at the beginning of third period today to receive your device.
Senior parents, would you like to buy a salutation for your senior in this year’s Oak Log yearbook? You can order online at www.balfour.com and design your own salutation or send one in to the high school to have it made for you. Just pick up a form outside Mrs. Byrd’s room (CS328) or in the main office. All salutations are due by October 23. (9/5-9/8) – R. Byrd

Have you ever thought to yourself “hmmm, I bet my math teacher was an adorable baby”? Well, good news! You’ve won the bet! Confused? Check out the display outside the library for some pics of your teachers when they were kids and their favorite books! Want another reason to check it out? It’s also a contest! Stop by the library to pick up a form so you can guess who the picture belongs to. Prizes will be awarded to the person with the highest number of correct guesses. But get there quickly – winners will be chosen at the end of the day on Friday, September 15th. (9/8-9/11) – C. Milloway

COUNSELING INFO
An Admissions Representative from Emory University will be meeting with students in the Counseling Office on Tuesday, September 12th during 5A & 5B. Please plan to attend if you are interested in learning more about Emory University. (9/6 – 9/11) – A. Morris
An Admissions Representative from Agnes Scott College will be meeting with students in the Counseling Office after school on Friday, September 15th. If you would like to attend this information meeting please stop by the Counseling Office to sign up. Sign ups will be available until Wednesday September 13th. (9/7-9/12) – A. Morris
CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO
Small Talk will have its first meeting of the school year next week. We will have two meetings next week to accommodate students. Please plan to meet after school until 3:45 pm EITHER Monday, September 11 or Thursday, September 14. Meetings will be held in Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235. (9/5, 9/8, 9/11, 9/13-14) – R. Colquitt
The YuGi-Oh! Club will meet on Fridays in Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235. This club is free and is open to all students. You can bring your own cards or build a deck with the cards already here. Be prepared to duel until 5 pm! (9/7-9/8) – R. Colquitt
National Honor Society will meet on Monday, September 11th at 3:15 in LC-327. All members are expected to attend. Please see Madame Bailey in LC-304 to explain conflicts. (9/7-9/11) – L. Bailey
What is real? What is a fact? How do we know? Join Philosophy Club after school on Friday in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on epistemology, the theory of knowledge. We will also hold officer elections. (9/7-9/8) – A. Pickering

SENIOR INFO
SENIOR SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST: Please submit your designs for the Class of 2018 Senior Shirt to Mrs. Ledden in Room CS347 by Tuesday, September 12. You do not have to be a senior to submit designs for the shirt—open to all grade levels. Front and back designs needed–$25 prize for each. Be sure to incorporate ORHS, Seniors, and Class of 2018 into your drawings. Place your name and homeroom teacher’s name on the back of each design entry. Entries must be original work and if selected, will become the property of Oak Ridge High School.(9/7-9/11) – T. Ledden
ATHLETICS THIS WEEK
Track and Field Conditioning begins on Monday, September 11, at 3:30 PM at the Ben Martin Track. For the first few months we will meet on Mondays at 3:30 and on Wednesdays at 4:00, for about an hour each time. You must have a current ORHS Sports Physical on file here at ORHS in order to workout.
