Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students who plan to take an AP Exam this spring must register in the main lobby through Wednesday, February 8. The registration table will be open before school, during lunch, and after school. Students can choose to pay for all of their exams up front ($93 per exam) or pay in 3 installments ($31 per exam, per installment). An initial payment must be made at the time of registration. Please see your AP Teacher for additional information including the AP Exam Schedule. (2/6-2/8) – A. Henry

Yesterday’s Black History trivia answer….Sidney Poitier was the first African-American to win an Oscar for a leading role in a movie In 1963. Today’s trivia question is: Who was the first African American principal in the Oak Ridge Schools System? Write your answer, along with your name, on a sheet of paper and give it to Dr. Colquitt in CS 235 by the end of 5^th period today. All of the participants in the trivia questions will receive a special prize on Friday, February 10! (2/7) – R. Colquitt

To empower the next generation of leaders, we’re awarding scholarships to high school and college students to help them create legacies of their own. Tell us about an African-American who has inspired you, and you could win $5,000 or $3,500 in college scholarships. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

There is a very important Chess Club Meeting on Thursday, February 10 after school in Ms. Hondorf’s room, room LC210. If you are considering participating in the team tournament on March 4, please pick up an information sheet and t-shirt order form from Ms. Hondorf or from the library BEFORE the meeting. The annual conference for Interact is coming up soon. This weekend experience will be on March 3^rd, 4^th, and 6^th. Anyone interested in attending this meeting to learn more about Interact projects, scholarships, and other opportunities should stop by Ms. Toler’s room and pick up a registration form immediately.
