Madrid, Paris, the beaches of San Sebastian and St. Malo! What a wonderful way to spend two weeks in the summer! Those students who are interested in traveling to France and Spain in June of 2018 should attend the informational meeting on Thursday evening at 7:00 in the Amphitheater.

AP Exam Registration is coming soon! Students who plan to take an AP Exam this spring must register in the main lobby Monday, February 6 through Wednesday, February 8. The registration table will be open before school, during lunch, and after school. Students can choose to pay for all of their exams up front ($93 per exam) or pay in 3 installments ($31 per exam, per installment). An initial payment must be made at the time of registration. 115 students representing 35 schools and homeschool groups from East TN participated in the Tennessee Chess Association regional tournament at ORHS on January 28. Of the six ORHS students, freshmen Andrew Brady (3rd) and Justin Blanchard (7th) qualified to play in the 9th grade division at the state tournament to be held Feb. 18 at TTU. In the 12th grade division, sophomore Steven Qu (3rd) and junior Andrew Chan (8th) will also represent the school at state. (2/1) –

As we celebrate Black History month during February, you will be given a trivia question about the achievements of African-Americans in Oak Ridge and in our world. Bring your response to Dr. Colquitt by the end of 5th period on the day of the question. There will be a prize for the student who answers the most questions correctly.
