Glenwood teachers have been back at school all week getting ready for all of the students that will arrive on July 30th! Mrs. Bell treated to the teachers to a book called Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall. In the story, Jabari finds out that sometimes when things feel scary at first they can be amazing…if you like SURPRISES!

Mr. Purtill’s 1st Grade students competed in an art competition against the other Oak Ridge schools. They won the art competition and now their art will be on display outside ORNL for the whole community to enjoy. Great job, Mr. Purtill and Glenwood 1st Graders!
Congratulations to Dawid in Ms. Rife’s class for being able to recall ALL 118 elements on the 2018 Periodic Table! The class held a competition to see how many could recall 40 of them, and Dawid went above and beyond! Way to go, Dawid!!!
The students and staff and Glenwood were treated to an in-school concert compliments of the JMS Band on May 8, 2018. We heard wonderful scores from popular movies such as, The Incredibles, Harry Potter, E.T., Star Wars, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
