We are happy to announce that Heather Henderlight, an instructional technology coach (formerly at Jefferson Middle School, and currently at Glenwood and Linden Elementary Schools), was selected as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for this school year, 2019-2020. Each year, Microsoft selects Innovative Educator Experts to be part of this exclusive global community paving the way for their peers to share ideas, try new approaches, and learn from each other.
Heather will be joining a group of educators who empower students in their districts to create for the world of tomorrow. The staff at Microsoft communicated a belief that technology is an accelerator for student learning, but acknowledged the power of change lies within the educators. MIE Experts are selected based on being self-driven, passionate about their work, having a true collaborative spirit, and striving to inspire students with outside-the-box thinking, using technology in education.
As an MIE Expert, over the course of the next year, Mrs. Henderlight will have the following opportunities: 1) to share her MIE Expert badge on an Educator Center profile, 2) gain access to free Microsoft products and tools; 3) participate in exclusive professional development opportunities; 4) gain opportunities to develop a personal brand for her career as a thought leader by participating in case studies, speaking engagements, and content development; 5) have an opportunity to be featured on Anthony Salcito’s Daily Edventures blog; and/or 6) be eligible to earn a place at the Educator Exchange (E2) event that occurs in Sydney, Australia March 23-26, 2020.
